Winter is coming. Are you feeling cold in your hometown? Time to plan a one week, the warm trip to get relief from such cold weather! This week, we will be diving into Miami, a city with a subtropical climate. Besides the sun and warm weather, there are also the colorful art deco buildings, white sand, Surfside hotels, and trendsetting nightclubs. “Miami is a city that manages to simultaneously pay tribute to its storied past and to remain on the cutting edge of what’s next” [1]. It’s a wild and eclectic city. There are plenty of things for you to enjoy in Miami during the winter and you will never feel bored here. Keep reading this itinerary, and it may help you to dig up that glamour better.
Best time to Visit
January through April is a high season because of it’s best temperatures. While much of the U.S. will be shaking off the cold weather, it’s a prime time to plan a one-week trip in Miami because it’s warm but not swampy. Just remember to reserve the hotel early.
Transportation
Airport: Miami International Airport (MIA)
MIA is one of the busiest airports in North America with 100,000 people every day [2]. Taxis and shuttles are good but a little bit expensive. There are also some convenient public transportations in MIA, like Metrobus and Metrorail. A rental car is ideal for a one-week traveler that makes it easy to drive to the beaches or downtown district.
Food
Travelers in Miami always get plenty of bucket-list-worthy eats. Miami has a lot of unique food that you can only get there. Here is a list of some foods that you “must try” in Miami:
– Frita Traditional: it’s in West Miami, and it’s the Cuban version of the American hamburger with papitas
– Stone Crabs: any seafood restaurants in Miami Beach will offer this dish, but it’s only offered in season October to May
– Jewban: Miami staples of Jewish flavors to Cuban classic.
– Chicharrón: Latin American and Caribbean food.
– Fish Sandwich: Garcia’s Seafood Grill & Fish.
– Arepas: it can be eaten on its own or stuffed with meats, cheese, and vegetables
– Cuban Coffee: many cafeterias will offer it.

Activities
– Best Miami beaches: They are the places where you go to socialize, sunbathe and swim or relax. There are many interesting beaches I recommend to you: Lummus Park Beach/ Haulover Beach/ South Pointe Park Pier/ Surfside
– Design district: you can experience a series of Maison & Object-inspired “activations” here. It’s a paradise for shoppers. You can even find the new Guccivuitton exhibition at the Institute of ICA[3].
– Maison & Objet American: there will be mount annual design tradeshows at the Miami Beach Convention Center through 2018. It features more than 300 brands from 24 countries, spanning Brazil’s La Lampe and its architecturally-precise lighting fixtures, and the colorful Baroque-style furniture of POLaRT from Mexico [3]. Design events there should be open, young and fun.
– Nightclubs: nothing will change Miami’s identity as a party city. Of course, it is not difficult for you to find a club, but for me, they are the “must-see attractions.” Here are some recommendations for you: Club Space/ Story/ Eleven/Heart.
