Howdy Readers! This week I’ll be taking you on a journey to Big Sky, Montana for a ski trip of a lifetime! The beautiful Lone Mountain is the host of Big Sky Resort, and home to the “biggest skiing in America.” There are four different lodging options available, ranging from your basic hotel room to a private cabin, all of which having ski-in or slope side access. If you don’t want to ship your own ski equipment, there are places on the resort property where you can be fitted for rentals. First time skier? Not to fear! There are plenty of lessons and programs to get you started, as well as different slopes for all experience levels. The resort also has its own little “village,” with shops and restaurants when you tire of skiing and snowboarding.

TRANSPORTATION
Unless you’re from the Montana area, you’re going to have to fly. Lucky for you, sixteen cities offer direct flights, which can be found by clicking here. If you don’t live in one of those lucky cities, you can always grab a connecting flight. They’re pretty cheap, running at only around $300 round trip during peak season. Big Sky Resort is about a 45-minute drive from Bozeman International Airport, and the resort partnered up with these companies to book your transportation to and from.

LODGING
So as previously stated you’ll be staying at Big Sky Resort, but you’ll have to decide which of their lodging options would be best with you and your companions. If you’re traveling with a large group, I’d recommend booking your stay at one of the Resort’s cabins or homes available. If not with a group, there are four different hotel options or condos to choose from, all of which can be found here.

FOOD
There are lots of different options to choose from in terms of dining, located mostly at the Mountain Village portion of the resort. Here’s a couple to get you started:
- Huntley Dining Room – Located in the Huntley Lodge in the village, this place serves the “biggest breakfast buffet in America” perfect before starting a full day on the slopes
- Carabiner – Located in the Summet Hotel, this restaurant is a great lunch and dinner option, serving pub style food on a fire lit patio
- Montana Dinner Yurt – Located two miles up the mountain, this place provides a really unique dining experience only accessed by snowcat or sled, where dinner is served by candlelight in a large yurt
- Everett’s 8800 – Located at the top of Andesite Mountain, this restaurant is another really cool experience accessed by ski lift and offering stunning views of Lone Peak Mountain
ACTIVITIES

- Mountain Sports – Once you get to your hotel, grab some day passes and hit the slopes! The village offers equipment rentals, and the ski valet will store them when not in use. There’s even a boot drying room so you never have to worry about cold, wet boots!
- Snowmobile & Snowcoach tours
- Ziplining – The resort has the largest zipline in the Yellowstone region offering a really unique way to see the mountain
- Snowshoe Tours – Want a less adventurous way to explore the region? Book a snowshoe tour for a more peaceful experience!
